احتوت هذه الرسالة على بابين عدا المقدمة والتمهيد والخاتمة، الأول في التاريخ السياسي والثاني في التاريخ الاجتماعي، وتضمن كل منهما ثمانية فصول، ففي التاريخ السياسي تضمن الفصل الأول اسم الضنية، الموقع والحدود، وتاريخ المنطقة من الفتح العثماني حتى نهاية فخر الدين، والفصل الثاني النزاع بين ورثة يوسف سيفا، والنزاع بين آل حمادة وآل رعد.
والفصل الثالث العلاقة بين آل رعد والأمير يوسف وموقفهم من الصراع بين بشير الكبير وأولاد يوسف. أما الفصلين الرابع والخامس فقد تضمنا علاقة الضنية وآل رعد بكل من مصطفى بربر والحملة المصرية، والفصلين السادس والسابع الإدارة العثمانية قبل وخلال عصر التنظيمات، وأفرد الفصل الأخير لآل رعد، أصلهم وأهم شخصياتهم.
في التاريخ الاجتماعي تضمن الفصل الأول النظام الإقطاعى والملكية العقارية ونظام المحاصصة في الضنية، والفصلين الثاني والثالث تضمنا الزراعة وعمليات الري والضرائب وأنواعها، والفصل الرابع كان في التجمعات السكنية وأثاث كل من دارة الآغا وبيت الفلاح، أما الفصلين الخامس والسادس فقد تضمنا موضوع الحياة العائلية والزواج وبعض العادات الاجتماعية، ثم الفصلين الأخيرين السابع والثامن أفردهما للحياة العلمية وللطوائف في الضنية.
