اهتم الإسلام بالأسرة كل الاهتمام، وأولاها من العناية والرعاية ما يكفل لها أن تنتج ثمارها المرجوة. ولا غرو، فإن الأسرة نواة المجتمع، والمجتمعات تتكون منها الأمة. فإذا صلحت الأمة صلح المجتمع. وقد يكون من المفيد أن نلمح إلى أن التعريف السليم للأسرة هو أنها عشيرة الإنسان ورهطه الأقربون؛ وهي مأخوذة من الأَسْر وهو القوة إذ إن أسرة الإنسان قوة له.
ولما كان للأسرة من شأن وخطر، ومكانة وأثر، فإن الإسلام الحنيف ركز على حسن تكوينها تكويناً يضمن لها الاستقرار والأمن والدعة. إذ باستقرارها يستقر المجتمع وتعظم الدولة ويعلو شأنها. من هذا المنطلق كان اهتمام المؤلف بهذا الموضوع الذي كرّس له هذا الكتاب، الذي وبالرجوع إلى محتواه نجد أنه يتضمن بحثاً نظرياً يدور حول الأسرة المسلمة وتحديات العصر التي تواجهها وتهددها بالتدمير.
وبشكل عام يحتوي هذا البحث على خمسة فصول جاءت معنونة على الشكل التالي: الأول: الأسس الشرعية لبناء الأسرة، الثاني: الأسرة في مرحلة القدوة في العهد النبوي الشريف وفي الخلافة الراشدة، الثالث: دور الأسرة في التربية والنهوض الحضاري، الرابع: تحديات-داخلية وخارجية-تواجه الأسرة، وسبيل التحصين، الخامس: رسالة الأسرة المسلمة في عالم اليوم.
هذا الكتاب بحث يتناول الأسرة المسلمة وقواعد الإسلام في إنشائها واستقرارها كما يتناول هموم هذه الأسرة النابعة من تحديات العصر الذي نعيشه وما يرد غلينا من مجتمعات غريبة عنا لا تدين بما ندين ولا تتقيد بما تتقيد به الأسرة الإسلامية. كما يتناول ما يوجهه أعداء الإسلام من سهام الانتقاد للأسرة المسلمة ويفندها ويبين جلية الأمر فيها مع الاستشهاد بعيون الكتب ووثيق المراجع.
ويجد فيه أفراد الأسرة من أب لأم لأبناء يتعطشون لمعرفته عن حياطة الإسلام للأسرة المسلمة بسياج من الوقاية التحصين.
