تعتبر الإدارة المدرسية فرعاً من فروع الإدارة التعليمية، وهي من المجالات التربوية الجديدة، التي فرضت نفسها لأهميتها على علوم التربية بعد أن صار مفهومها الجديد واضحاً كعلم وفن ومهارة وانطوى مفهومها التقليدي الذي ظل فترة طويلة.
وقد قسمت الدراسة في هذا الكتاب إلى خمسة عشر فصلاً، إختص الفصل الأول منها بالأصول النظرية للإدارة المدرسية في ضوء الفكر الإداري العام والمعاصر - مع تناول أنماط مدراء المدارس بالتحليل والدراسة، وانتقلنا من الفصل الأول إلى الفصل الثاني الذي يدور حول أسرة المدرسة ودور كل عضو فيها والتنظيم المدرسي في ضوء الدراسة النظرية، نجد الفصل الثالث الذي يدور حول النظام المدرسي ووسائل تحقيقه.
وبعده إنتقلنا إلى الفصل الرابع وتناولنا النشاط المدرسي كوسيلة من وسائل حفظ النظام، ثم تطرقنا إلى الفصل الخامس وتناولنا فيه موضوع المدرسة والبيئة والعلاقة بينهما لتحسين العمل المدرسي وتطويره، وفي الفصل السادس تناولنا موضوعاً جديداً وهو التوجيه والإرشاد بالمدرسة كوسيلة من وسائل حفظ النظام المدرسي، ثم عرضنا الفصل السابع الذي تناول وسائل وأساليب الإتصال في المدرسة.
وانتقلنا بعد ذلك الفصل الثامن الذي يتحدث عن إتخاذ القرارات في المدرسة، ثم تناول في الفصل التاسع العلاقة في مجال عمل مدير المدرسة، ثم عرضنا في الفصل العاشر إدارة الوقت المدرسة ومن ثم انتقلنا إلى الفصل الحادي عشر وعرضنا للتحليل السلوكي لمشكلات الإدارة المدرسية، وفي الفصل الثاني عشر عرض للعوامل المؤثرة في الإدارة المدرسية.
أما الفصل الثالث عشر فقد عرضنا للعلاقة بين الإدارة التعليمية والإدارة المدرسية، ثم انتقلنا إلى الفصل الرابع عشر وعرضنا معايير تقويم الإدارة المدرسية، وفي الفصل الخامس عشر تناولنا الإدارة المدرسية بالمملكة العربية السعودية.
