- من عوالم القصيدة المعنونة بـ «صمت الأوردة» نقرأ: "... إلى أين نحن ذاهبون ؟/ والحب يغمر أرواحنا ولا يفرقها ويتلاعب/ بأفئدتنا ونحن نسكت ونصمت كصمت الأوردة/ داخل أزقة الجسد نترقب فجراً جديداً.../ هل نكتب على وجه البحيرة أشعاراً؟/ ثم تمحيها أجيالاً وتلك الحياة التي تحيا بالحركة/ تموت بسكون المذاهب وتحت شعار الذئاب../ نحن شعب نحمل أوردة صامتة داخل جسد واحد/ ألا وهو الوطن والأرض/ انظروا لقطرات الندى تلك/ وتمعنوا بجمال الخالق الباري/ الوطن والوطنية يندفعان من سكون الأوردة/ ستظهر تلك الأبواب/ ستُفتح على مصراعيها/ ستذوب شمعة اليأس/ ويظهر فجر جديد وطيور فردوسية/ ستحلقون في زمن جديد كله خضرة وزرقة/ سوف تستيقظ الحقول وتنبت بيادر القمح/ فصفقوا لصمت الأوردة". - يضم الكتاب ستة وخمسون قصيدة نثرية ذات طابع وجداني جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: 1- صمت الأوردة، 2- الوريد، 3- تحت أقدام الدهر، 4- ذهب مع الريح، 5- محبرة وريشة كاتب، 6- ذروة النفوس، 7- ذاكرة رجل شرقي، 8- الجهل، 9- أقحوانة أم ليلكية (...) وقصائد أخرى.
