السيد محمد الحسيني الشيرازي (سلطان المؤلفين) هو مرجع ديني، قائد سياسي، مصلح اجتماعي ومؤلف مكثر تجاوزت مؤلفاته الألف كتاب. يرجع نسبه إلى جده من جهة الأب هو الميرزا محمد حسن الشيرازي قائد ثورة التنباك -التبغ- المشهورة ضدّ الاستعمار في إيران، وجده من جهة الأم هو الشيخ محمد تقي الشيرازي قائد ثورة العشرين ضد الاستعمار في العراق. ولد السيد محمد عام 1347هـ في النجف الأشرف، وهاجر إلى كربلاء المقدسة بصحبة السيد محمد الحسيني الشيرازي (سلطان المؤلفين) هو مرجع ديني، قائد سياسي، مصلح اجتماعي ومؤلف مكثر تجاوزت مؤلفاته الألف كتاب. يرجع نسبه إلى جده من جهة الأب هو الميرزا محمد حسن الشيرازي قائد ثورة التنباك -التبغ- المشهورة ضدّ الاستعمار في إيران، وجده من جهة الأم هو الشيخ محمد تقي الشيرازي قائد ثورة العشرين ضد الاستعمار في العراق. ولد السيد محمد عام 1347هـ في النجف الأشرف، وهاجر إلى كربلاء المقدسة بصحبة والده الميرزا مهدي وهو في التاسعة من العمر، وقد تلقى العلوم الدينية على يد كبار العلماء والمراجع في الحوزة العلمية بكربلاء المقدسة حتى بلغ درجة الاجتهاد ولما يبلغ العشرين. وقد واصل تدريسه للخارج لأكثر من أربعين عاما في كربلاء المقدسة والكويت وقم ومشهد المقدستين، وكان يحضر درسه ما يقارب الخمسمائة من العلماء والفضلاء، حتى عام 1416 هـ حيث تم إيقاف درسه بسبب عدم موافقته نظرية ولاية الفقيه وسياسات الحكم الديني في إيران. كتب الشيرازي أكثر من ألف كتاب، في الدين والسياسة والتاريخ والاجتماع والاقتصاد والقرآن واللغة العربية وآدابها، ومواضيع أخرى. اشتهر بتأليف موسوعة الفقه، وقد تجاوزت عدد أجزائها مائة وخمسين مجلداً، مما يجعلها أكبر موسوعة فقهية في تاريخ الأديان. بناءاً على ذلك، أطلق عليه رئيس مجمع البلاغة العالمي في دمشق د. أسعد علي لقب سلطان المؤلفين.
