رُوِيَ أَنَّهُ عِنْدَمَا وَصَلَ الإمَامُ الحُسَيْنُ عليه السلام إلَى كَرْبَلاَءَ سَأَلَ عَنِ اسْمِ المَكَانِ، فَقِيْلَ لَهُ: إِنَّهُ وَادِي كَرْبَلاَء، قَالَ عليه السلام: هَذَا مَوْضِعُ كَرَبٍ وَبَلاَءٍ، إِنْزِلُوا... هَا هُنَا... مَحَطُّ رِحَالِنَا... وَمنَاخُ رَكَابِنَا... وَمَقْتْلُ رِجَالِنَا... وَمَسْفَكَ دِمَائِنَا... وَهُنَا مَحَلُّ قُبُوِرِنَا... بِهَذَا حَدَّثَنِي جَدِّي رَسُوْلُ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم.
كربلاء مدرسة مستمرة... مدرسة تستطيع أن تمد الأجيال بعطائها ودروسها وخيراتها وثمراتها... هذا الدرس قد تكون كل الأجيال الماضية بحاجة إليه، لكن نحن في هذا العصر بالذات أحوج من كل الأجيال الماضية لهذا الدرس.
