نعيم تلحوق كاتب عرف بتعدد مواهبه وتنوع قدراته، حيث كتب الشعر والرواية والمقالة الأدبية والسياسية التي تحاكي الواقع، والواقع الراهن، ويسعى دائماً لتحقيق حلم راوده ورفاقه بتوحيد الأمة، حتى أن أحد أصدقاءه قال عنه حول تبجيله للقوة، نتيجة ضعف وتفكك وهوان التاريخ، منذ عهود متقادمة، إذا تلحوق يؤمن بالعلم والثقافة القوة، تماماً كما كان أجداده الفينيقيون يؤمنون، لذا نراه في شعره وعلى الورق، وبأفعاله وأقواله يجسد تلك المقولة، لكنه ظل يحس بالغربة العميقة الحادة في الحياة وبين الناس، من خلال النظر العميق إلى جوهر الحياة وحقيقة الكون، والتقاط الماضي الذي يصنع المستقبل، بلا هيمنة على حالة الوعي والإحساس بخطيئة الإنسان دون غربة وضياع، والدراسة التي بين يدينا نمت وتطورت تبعاً لشعر تلحوق ونموه، حيث حللت الأبعاد النفسية، وقيمته الأبعاد الفنية عبر النص.
