في اللافتة الشعرية الأولى التي يستهل بها الشاعر عبد العزيز العجلان مجموعته الشعرية (لرياح الأخيليّة) تحضر ليلى الأخيلية كثيمة لامتناهية في المطلق المكاني والزماني وتتشظى هذه الثيمة بشذراتها النصية والإيقاعية والدلالية عبر النسيج الكلي لقصائد المجموعة ليقيم الشاعر بها خطابه الشعري بمستويات وجدانية وتأملية.
" ولو أن ليلى الأخيلية سلمت / علي ودوني جندل وصفائح ، لسلمت تسليم البشاشة أو زفا / إليها صدى من جانب القبر نائح" . هذين البيتين للشاعر العربي "توبة بن الحمير" اللذان يتصدران المجموعة هما إحدى الموجهات للبُنى الشعرية للشاعر العجلان، والتي سوف تظل مسرحاً للتعبير عن مكنونات الأنا وحنينها وقلقها وإحساسها الوجودي الذي يتسامى في مستويات لغوية يصرح بها الشاعر حيناً ويبطنها حيناً آخر بقيماته الحياتية الآنية التي تبقى أعلى القيمات.
تحت عنوان (لرياح الأخيليّة) يقول الشاعر العجلان:
وهزي رماد الليل وانتفضي / جرحاً أغراً / أو وشاحاً / أو صباحاً / .. أو ملاماً / لك ما يشاء العاشقون / تدثري بشذى القصائد / بالحروف المرهقاتِ / بكل ما لم يدره صخب السراةِ / ولا افتراضات الندامى (...)". عبر هذه اللغة الإيحائية يقيم الشاعر عوالمه اليومية والكونية، وعلاقته الكلية بالحياة ويقدمها لنا شعراً يُقرأ.
تضم المجموعة عشرين قصيدة في الشعر العربي الحديث جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "إخفاق" ، "إيقاع" ، "الأيائل" ، "وحدة" ، "أجراس" ، "تشكيل" ، "إصفاء" ، "زاجر الطير" ، "عبور" ، "فصول" ، "لقاء" (...) وقصائد أخرى.
