"لو أنني الآن... بين ذراعيك! ذراعاك..؟! عليّ أن ألمّ كفاً من هتاك وساعداً من هناك، وأرمم عظاماً مهشّمة، لأنعم بلحظة مستحيلة. أبداً بالعناق: لحظة تبددت في عروقي ضاعت.. وإلى ألبد. وربما هكذا تبدو...! لمعان متضائل في حطام ذاكرة سحيقة. سنوات تبالغ في المضي. وحيثما أمدد فسحة عناقي، يذعرني صدى ارتطام، بوهم هزيل. حتى الغناء الخارج من مشاعات الروح: تعارضه اللاجدوى، وبينما شرهة تتجاذبني المطاحن، ألملمني، متكوماً في ظلال اللحظة: اللحظة التي تبددت في عروقي، اللحظة التي تتلاشى في وهم الزمن". عن بغداد وعوالهما وتاريخها وأبنيتها، وسكانها ومجتمعاتها، تتحدث قصائد هذا الديوان المعنون بـ"بغداهولم".
لا "ميلا" ظنت أننا سنهاجمهم-باللجوء من حيثما أتت طائرة! ولا "أنا" اعتقدت يوماً أن هذا العراق، ينجب أنباءً للموت أو للتصدير!، وربما استنبطت أمي مثلاً جديداً (لا قرية وراء ستوكهولم).
