وهذا البحث القيم هو أحد هذه المجهودات المقدرة للتعريف بواحدة من هذه الربوع التي أسهمت في وضع اللبنات الأولى لتاريخ هذه البلاد؛ فقد ارتبطت "رغبة" -وبشكل مبكر ومباشر- بدعوة الإمام المجدد الشيخ محمد بن عبد الوهاب، وعملت على نصرة ذلك التحالف الكبير بينه وبين الإمام محمد بن سعود، في بداية عهد إنشاء الدولة السعودية الأولى، وعملت على نصرته في وقت كانت الحرب عليه على أشدها.
وقد تجاوز الباحث الحديث عن تاريخ "رغبة" وحاضرها إلى وضع مقترحات بناءة لنهضة البلدة؛ كونها تفتقر لأهم مقومات المدنية التي تنعم بها أرجاء البلاد، وإن كانت المقترحات التي وضعها على درجة عالية من الطموح، إلا أنها تعتبر حلمًا مشروعًا، يأمل الباحث أن يتحقق من خلال مجهودات أبناء "رغبة" إضافة للجهد الرسمي.
