لعبت التأريخ لحياة الرئيس العراقي السابق "صدام حسين"؛ وما صاحبها من إعادة تكوين سلطة لعبت دوراً كبيراً في تشكيل خارطة المنطقة الجيوسياسية طيلة ثلاثة عقود، هذا التأريخ لم يكن بالأمر اليسير كما توقعت في بداية تأليف هذا الكتاب، خاصة إذا ما نظرنا لعراق ما بعد صدّام؛ وما تحمله الأجندة الأمريكية من إعادة تشكيل ما يُسمَّى "بالشرق الأوسط الجديد".
إنَّ احتلال بلدٍ بحجم وتاريخ العراق ليس نزوة « مقاتل » كما يصوّره البعض، فإذا ما نظرنا إلى تاريخ صعود صدام وسقوطه؛ وما حفلت به تلك الحقبة من حروب وتحالفات، وبطش وتنكيل و«إبادات جماعية»، وتغييبٍ للحقائق، وما صحبها من تأييد أو غضّ نظر على الأقل؛ من الغرب عموماً، والإدارة الأمريكية خصوصاً، عندها نستطيع أن نشاهد صورة مختلفة لذلك المشهد، ونستطيع أن نقرأ تاريخاً آخر لصدّام حسين؛ غير المُدوَّن قطعاً.
وهذا الكتاب "صدام حسين ـ الحقيقة المُغيَّبة"؛ يأتي بعد كتاب "أسرار من بغداد"، الذي انتشر انتشاراً واسعاً، وطُبع عدّة طبعات بين عامي 2005 و2006م، وفيه إستدراك لما فات كتاب أسرار بغداد ، وإتمام لما لحق من أحداث تتعلق بمفاصل أساسية وحساسة يكشف النقاب عنها لأول مرة من حياة الرئيس السابق.
من خلال ما تقدّم حاولت جاهداً الحفر في المستور، ونبش ذلك التاريخ المُغيَّب الذي بقي لحدّ الآن من المسكوت عنه، عمداً تارةً وقهراً تارةً أخرى.
التاريخ عادةً ما يكتبه المنتصر...، وبما أننا جميعاً مهزومون ـ بِنَسبٍ متفاوتة ـ، يشقّ هذا الكتاب طريقه للقارئ العربي مرتاح الضمير؛ ناشداً الحقيقة والتاريخ الصحيح لرجلٍ توقف عليه مصير منطقة بأكملها.
وقد يحقق ما أصبو إليه؛ بأن يكون هذا الكتاب وثيقة حيَّة بأيدي الأجيال القادمة على الأقل، ولأني لا أُراهن كثيراً على وضعنا العربي الراهن؛ قررت أن أهدي هذا الكتاب للمنتظر من الأجيال.
