هذه بحوث في أحكام الأسرة، وفق نصوص قوانين الأحوال الشخصية للطوائف الدينية التي يتشكل منها النسيج البشري للشعب اللبناني.
وهذه البحوث تدور كلها حول الأسرة كبنية إنسانية تتشكل من أصول وفروع، تجمعها رابطة النسب الواحد، المنبثق عن رابطة فريدة بين ذكر وأنثى، هي الرابطة الزوجية. ينشأ عنها، ويتفرع منها رابطة أخرى هي المصاهرة.
ويحكم هاتين الرابطتين عند جميع هذه الطوائف الدينية، منظومة من الحقوق والواجبات المتقابلة بين الأشخاص هنا وهناك، تحددها وتنظمها منظومة من الأحكام الشرعية، والقوانين المرعية وفق الرؤية الدينية لكل طائفة.
وقد حاول المؤلف في هذه البحوث أن يتبع أسلوب المقارنة في كل خطوة من الخطوات، بشكل متراتب ومنهجي ومترابط، ليطلع القارئ على مواضع الالتقاء في نظام الزواج بين ما قررته الشريعة الإسلامية وأدى إليه اجتهاد الفقهاء المسلمين بمختلف مذاهبهم، وما رسمته المرجعيات الدينية المسيحية وغيرها، كإطلاعه على مواقع الافتراق في هذا الصدد.
