إن الاشتغال بعلم القراءات لهو نعمة من أعظم النعم التي ينعم الله تعالى بها على العبد، وذلك لالتصاقه بكتاب الله تعالى، وسماعه واتصاله بكلامه عز وجل. وقد وضع علماء هذا الفن قواعد عديدة لحفظ هذا العلم من التحريف ودخول الخطأ والخلل واللحن. حيث جمع العلماء القراءات مع أصولها وقواعدها في مصنفات مفردة حتى ييسر الأمر على الطالب الذي يريد دخوله. وقد كان أولى من جمع القراءات هو العلامة ابن مجاهد، وهو أيضاً من جملهم سبعة، وقد انتشر متن الإمام الشاطبي، واصل هذا المتن كتاب التيسير لأبي عمرو الداني في القراءات السبع. فتلقاه العلماء والطلاب سلفاً عن خلف بالقبول والعناية والشرح والتوضيح، ومصنف هذا الكتاب هو واحد من هؤلاء الذين تناولوا هذا المتن بالعناية وبعد قيامه بقراءة للعشرة من طريق الدرة والشاطبية، وبعد وقوفه على الخلاف الذي لم يتم ترجيحه في كتاب النشر، ومعرفته المرجح من غيره حسب النقول الشريعة قام بنظم ذلك ضمن أبيات وذلك ليسهل حفظه على الراغبين، وتمت الفائدة من هذا العمل كله عند قيام المؤلف بشرح تلك الأبيات التي نظمها حيث عمد إلى شرحها شرحاً لطيفاً تمت به الفوائد، مستفيداً في ذلك من شرح بعض العلماء.
ولأهمية الكتاب جاء محققاً حيث تم نسخ المخطوط وفقاً لقواعد النسخ المعروضة، وفصل بعلامات الترقيم اللازمة. كما تم توثيق النصوص التي نقلها المؤلف من آخرين إلى أصحابها وقائليها، والتعليق على المواضيع التي تحتاج إلى ذلك وتخريج الآيات القرآنية والأحاديث والآثار وبتعريف بالمصنف، كما تم وضع مقدمة بسيطة لتقريب معنى "التحريرات".
