كَانَ أَقَلّ مَا يُمْكِنِ أَنْ يُوصَفَ به مَا حَدَّثَ فِيِ (بِيلَاثُورْنَا) بَعْدَ هُجُوم الْعَمَالِقَة والتِّنِّين الأَسَوَد عَلَيْهَا بِأّنّه كَارِثَة!!!!...
كُلٌ شَيءٍ فَيِ الْمَدِينَة الْكَبيرةِ والْعَريِقَةِ مُنْذُ قُدُوم الْجَوّالَة إلَى (إيثِيرَا) ومِنْ بَعْدِهِم الْبَشَرَ بِسَنَوَاتٍ طويلَةٍ للغَايَةَ انْهَارَ بسُرْعَةٍ رَهِيبَةٍ وَمُفْزِعَةٍ، فَالْقُصُورُ الْمُنَيّفَة تَحَوّلَتْ تَحْتَ أقْدَام الْعَمَالِقَةِ إلى أَنْقَاضَ، وَالطُرُقَات الوَاسِعَةُ بِهَا سَالتْ فِيهَا دِمَاءَ الأبْرِيَاء أنْهارَاً جَاريَةَ، وَاشِتَعَلَتْ النِّيرَانُ فَي كُلِ مَكَانِ بلا اسْتِثْناء، وِارتَفَعَ الدُخَان الأَسْوَدُ إلَى عَنَان السّماءِ الّتِي تَردّدَت فِيهَا ضَحِكَات آجِيلَا كشَيطَان مِنْ قَلْب الجَحِيمِ وَهُوَ عَلَى ظَهْرِ التِّنّين الأَسْوَدِ:
"احْتَرقِي يَا بيلَاثُورْنَا... لِتَكُنْ دِمَاءُ أَهْلِكِ أوّلَ مَا يُسْفَك مِنْ أَجْلِ بدايَة العَهْدِ الجَدِيد... عَهْدُ الكَاهِن الأَسْودِ... عَهْدُ الظَلَام!!".
مِنْ مَكَانِهَا عَلَى السّور بِجِوَارِ (هِيرَاس) وَقَفَتْ الأمِيرَةُ (سَارْيُو) وَجَسَدُهَا يَرتَجفُ مِنْ رَأسِهَا وحَتَى أخمَص قَدَمَيْهَا، وَهِي تَرَى فَشَلُهَا فِي حِمَايَةِ المَدِينَةِ - كَمَا طَلَبَ مِنَهَا والِدُهَا - مُتَجَسِّدَاً أمَامَ عَيْنَيْهَا كَأبشَعِ مَا يَكون، وَمَا لَمْ يَخْطُر فِي أكَثرِ أحَلاَمِهَا جُمُوحَاً وإفْزَاعَاً!!...
الْتَفَتَتْ إلَى (هِيرَاس) وَقَالَتْ بِصَوْتٍ خَنَقَتْهُ الدُمُوعُ: "لَقد ضَاعَ كُلُ شَيءٍ يَا (هِيرَاس)... سَقَطِتْ (بِيلّاثُورْنَا)... لَقَد عَجِزْتُ عَنْ القِيَامِ بالْوَاجِبِ الّذِي ألْقَاهُ أَبِي عَلَى عَاتِقِي!".
