لقد استطاع مؤلف كتاب "الإسلام والإنسان المعاصر" بكل ما أوتي في دقة في التحليل وقدرة على المقارنة، أن يعطي القارىء فكرة واضحة وجلية عن حقيقة الإسلام باعتباره دنيا عالمياً وليس دنيا قوميا. وكيف كان للإسلام حضارة عالمية تفوق كل الحضارات التي عرفتها البشرية على مر العصور. من حيث أن الحضارة في تقدير الإسلام هي بغية الوصول إلى تحقيق الطمأنينة والسلام والأمن وإقامة المجتمع الفاضل وإسعاد البشرية بما هو خير؟ ومحاربة كل عوامل البشر.
بينما الحضارة الحديثة لم تستطع أن تحقق الغاية المنشودة، وإنما أدت إلى القلق والاضطراب وطحن الإنسان في حنى المادية الطاغية والبعد عن الخلق والفضيلة والدين ونحوها من القيم الإنسانية. ولم يفت مؤلف هذا الكتاب عند حديثة عن دور الإسلام وكيف إن الحديث متجه الآن اتجاه منصفاً لرسول الإسلام الذي كان وسيظل موضع الاهتمام الكبير من العلماء والفلاسفة والمفكرين في الشرق والغرب على السواء، أن يستشهد بأقوال كثيرين من هؤلاء المنصفين من أمثال: "أوليري oleirey في كتابه "الإسلام في مفترق الطرق، وكذلك "بودلي Boudley" في كتابه "حياة الرسول"، وكانون سل 'Canon Sull" في كتابه "حياة محمد"...
بل أضيف إلى كل هذه المواقف والشخصيات التي استعان بها الدكتور "محمد ظفر الله خان" أقوالاً أخرى وشخصيات أخرى منها على سبيل المثال، لا على سبيل الحصر: الكتاب الإنجليزي الكبير "كارليل" الذي ألف كتاب الأبطال وخصص فصلاً كاملاً منه للحديث عن حياة الرسول العظيم حيث يقول "من العار أن يصغي أي إنسان متمدن من أبناء هذا الجيل إلى وهم القائلين أن دين الإسلام كذب وأن محمداً لم يكن على حق. فالرسالة التي دعا إليها هذا النبي ظلت سراجاً منيراً أربعة عشر قرناً من الزمان لملايين كثيرة من الناس، وما الرسالة التي جاء بها محمد إلا رسالة الصدق والحق، وما كلمته إلا صوت حق صادر من العالم المجهول، وما هو الاشهاب أضاء العالم أجمع".
