"علي بدران" يأتي إلى عالم الأدب من قلبه أولاً، ومن جنوبه ثانياً ومن حزن بكّر عليه ثالثاً، فكانت نصوصه خفقاناً لا يستطيع إيقافه ودموعاً لا يستطيع صدّها وصرخة كبرياء ومقاومة، لن تغادر قلمه طالما أنّ هذا القلم مصنوع من غزّار الجنوب.
طالب هندسة ناجح، وعضو في أسرة واعدة مطمئنّة صامدة، يرى أن الخطوط والأرقام لا تغني عن الغناء والأحلام: فيمضي إلى الحياة حاملاً واجبه بيمناه وحاملاً حنينه بيسراه؛ سيصل عليّ إلى أمكنة يريدها، وقد يصل إلى أمكنة يندم على ولوجها ولكنّه في الحالتين لن يتراجع قبل أن يطمئن إلى صمود القلب والقلم الوطن.
ويكتب "عليّ" أشعاره وحكاياه بسرعة جيله وهو من الآن يعي موقعه تماماً: وينسجم مع عمره الطريّ فيحبّ أكثر مما يفكّر بالحب، ويصغي إلى أصواته السرّية ويفشي أسرارها على الورق...
يقول في مقدمة الكتاب: "هذا هو الكتاب الثاني الذي أضعه بين يدي قرّاء العربية وأنا لا زلت في العشرين من العمر، ولا أريده أن يكون كباقي الكتب الكلاسيكيّة موحّد الأبعاد أو منتظم الإيقاع ومتجانس البنيان، أريده أن يكون رسالة مفتوحة، يروي عطش كل عاشق، ويحرر كلّ إمرأة أسيرة في وطن يشتاق هو إلى الحريّة"...
"كتابي يا سادتي، مفتوح إلى معظم حكامنا، أنزلوا عن عروشِكم ولو ليوم واحد، تعالوا إلى وطني الكتابيّ، زوروا شهداءنا وتناولوا الخبز مع فقرائنا، إبحثوا بين الكلمات عن معنى العروبة، ربما تعودون إلى قصوركم ونصفكم الآخر معكم... ربما تكتسبون لقب الرجولة ولن تكتسبوا".
"كتابي دعوة متجددة للعودة إلى الإنسانية، أطلقوا عليه ما شئتم من تصنيفات، لا يعنيني إن كتب أنّه شعر أم نثر أم بضعة أقاصيص، يكفيني أنّي أحبّ، أحب وطني، أمي، أبي، أختي وأخي... أحب الفقراء في وطننا، أحب حبيبتي، وأحب عدم حبّي لها أحياناً، أحبّ قصيدتي، وأصدقائي الذين يزيدون بي إيماناً كلّما كتبت؛ ما بين أيديكم، برقية مستعجلة في الحب، عسى أن لا يكون البريد مقفلاً...".
