لاقى كتاب "الإلهيات" مذ أبصر النور رواجاً وإقبالاً في المحافل العلمية، لما تمتع به من ميزات، أبرزها: أولاً: المنهجية في العرض: حيث طرح مباحث الأصول متسلسلة على نهج موافق للتسلسل العقلي المنطقي للموضوعات الكلامية، مع إرجاع كل بحث إلى موضعه المناسب، فبدأ بمباحث عامة حول معرفة الدين وأصوله، ثم بحث في أدلة إثبات الصانع، ثم في صفاته، وفيها أدرج مباحث العدل والبداء والقضاء والقدر والجبر والاختيار، ثم في النبوة العامة، فالنبوة الخاصة، فالإمامة فالمعاد.
ثانياً: التدرج في البحث: ففي كل أصل تم استعراض تعريفاته اللغوية، ثم الاصطلاحية. وإن كانت له ثمة مقدمات كلامية ضرورية طرحت، كمسألة التحسين والتقبيح العقليين بالنسبة إلى مباحث الحكمة، ثم خاض في أصل البحث، ثم فرغ عليه ثمراته وأهم الأسئلة والإشكالات التي قد تطرح حوله، وتم الإجابة عليها؟
ثالثاً: الشمولية في الاستدلال: كما يظهر من عنوان الكتاب، حيث استعرض الأدلة على ضوء ما يرشد إليه العقل والكتاب الحكيم والسنة المظهرة. كما استعرض أدلة المتكلمين وأدلة الفلاسفة أيضاً. وناقش ما احتاج منها إلى المناقشة، مما جعل هذا الكتاب فريداً في بابه. وغير ذلك من الميزات التي يلاحظها الباحث، كالسهولة في التعبير وتوخي أبسط ما يودي المعنى المطلوب، وتجنب التعقيد والإبهام.
