بعد أن استوقَدت الذكرى المهيمنة على الحبيب ذات الشاعر / خالد قاسم في (أنا وليل بعينيها) يبدأ الشاعر / العاشق في البحث عن واقع متعادل مع ماهية الذكرى وتجسدت هذه المشهدية عبر مرآوية المفارقة ما بين الواقعي والخيالي سعياً وراء الغائب، المقصي عن عالم الشاعر قسراً، يقول الشاعر في القصيدة المعنونة: "هواك باقٍ": "أجيء إليك يا شجر المنال... أهز غصون حلمك بالمُحال"... "فما سقطت على كفي زهورٌ... ولم أجمع سوى وصب المآل"... "أتوجُ بالأماني بعض يأسي... وأجملُ واقعي دوماً خيالي... "عشقتك رغم ما قالوا وإني... برغم هواك أسري، لا أبالي"... "إذا ما غاب نجمي في سمائي... على حديك مرسومٌ هلالي".
هي أشياء الأنثى استثمرها الشاعر قاسم في مشهده الشعري عبر ثنائية جميلة يحضر فيها الرجل، كما المرأة، لتبقى علامة من علامات وجود النص بوصفه صورة مكتملة، ونهائية، وكأن ما ينقص صورة الذات في الرجل / الشاعر يوجد في الآخر / الأنثى.
