يعالج هذا الكتاب رغم صغر حجمه مشكلة ضخمة في تاريخ الفكر الإسلامي من زاوية تأثيرها على تاريخ هذه الأمة؛ فكانت مشكلة (القضاء والقدر) من تلك المشاكل التي حولها إنحراف الفهم إلى (مشكلة)... وخلق بين الإيمان بها وبين حرية الإنسان التي يؤكدان الوجدان الصحيح، تنافياً امتص الجهد العقلي الهائل الذي صارعه فلم يستطع الإنتصار عليه لأنه فقد أضواء الرسالة الأصيلة وسار لوحده في طريق شائك، ولم يتمسك بالثقلين وهديهما الوضاء؛ أما أولئك الذين ساروا على سنن الحق وعافوا جواد المضلة فلم تكن لديهم مشكلة أبداً، وما كانوا بحاجة إلى تأويل آية تأويلاً متكلفاً لا يرضاه منطق، أو تشويه حديث مقدس شريف.
وينبغي هنا أن نذكر أن المترجم قد ترجم الشعر المذكور في الكتاب بنحو شعري، وحاول إختيار الألفاظ التي تتوفر فيها العملية والوضوح، والسلاسة بالمقدار الممكن.
