غالي شكرى غالب ( منوف، المنوفيه، 12 مارس 1935 - باريس، 10 مايو 1998 ) ، كاتب وباحث و ناقد و مؤرخ مصري كبير اشتهر بأبحاثه وكتبه النقديه الكتيرة. حصل على الدكتوراة من جامعة السوربون في فرنسا عن موضوع " النهضة والسقوط في الفكر المصري الحديث " الذي أشرف عليها المستشرق الفرنسي المشهور جاك بيرك. رأس تحرير مجلة " القاهرة ". تم تكريمه في مصر بجائزة الدولة التقديرية في الآداب سنة 1996.

وفي هذا الكتاب يتابع المؤلف رحلة غادة السمان خطوة، خطوة، وبأزمان ممتدة بين عامي 1972و 1977، وأماكن مختلفة بين القاهرة وبيروت وباريس، محاولاً الكشف عن أسرار رحلة استغرقت من صاحبتها حوالي عشر سنوات مكتملة العناصر والأدوات عدَها النقاد إحدى أهم العلامات البارزة في أدبنا الحديث...
