"يؤمن دائماً بأن الاستسلام للمرض يؤدي للموت، لذا يحاول أن يقنع نفسه أنه ليس مريضاً وإن كان في أسوأ حالاته، يوهم ذاته بذلك، ليتجاوز الألم، فالوهم لديه ليس بجدي، وإن كان هذه المرة إيجابي، فممارسته للعبته، بل هو من كبار المصدرين للوهم، تيمنناً بالوهم الذي نعيشه في كل تفاصيل حياتنا، وبمعنى أدق حالة التضليل العابثة بنا صباح مساء بدءاً بالصحف الباهتة، وانتهاءً بنشرات الأخبار التي لم تتغير منذ أن اشترى والده تليفزيون. قبل عشرين عاماً بعد بيعه ثلاث عنزات ليدخل البهجة على أطفاله، فكأن الديكور لم يتبدل إطلاقاً، فيما يهتم المذيعون بكمية (النشا) في (الغترة والشماغ).
وبغض النظر عن مستوى أدائه للنشرة ولعل مراقبته للأخبار لم يكن من باب متابعة الأحداث التي تعصف بالحالة العربية حالياً، أو تلك المتواصلة منذ أمد، ولكن شغفه بالأخبار ناتج عن حالة وهم لمستها زوجته".
