ذكرتك والليل يزجي الرؤى، وعيني تأبى عليّ المنام... وطيفك يجتاح جنح الدجى... يؤرقني في حنايا الظلام... وفي ساعدي يفتّ الأسى... وفي جانحيّ يشب الضرام... وصوتي إليك يشق المدى...
يناجيك في أمل وإبتسام... ذكرتك عند طلوع القمر على غفوة الآسى والنرجس... وقلبي يصارع عبء الضجر، ويسأل عن طيفك المؤانس... وكم بتّ فيه أعاني السهر، وأندب عهد الهوى الأقدسي؟!... فياليت شعري متى استقر، ويحلو لي العيش في مجلسي؟!...
ذكرتك فوق ضفاف الخليج، وفي نغمة الموجة الهادرة... ونفسي لما تزل في نشيج، وفي حيرة مرّة آسرة... وللنسمات حفيفٌ أريَج، يمرّ على مهجتي الشاعرة... فأدركت سرّ الغرام البهيج، يموج بأحلامه الساحرة... ذكرتك في بسمات الربيع، وفي همسة الشجر المورق... وللموج لحن يهزّ الضلوع على ضفة الشاطئ الأزرق... وعطرك في كل أفق يضوع، فيطفئ وهج الجوى المحرق... فمتى متى تتلاشى الدموع، ويسعد هذا الفؤاد الشقي؟!...
ذكرتك في عزلتي الدامية، وعبر دروب الحياة الرهيبة... وفي أنّة الناي والساقية، وتحت ظلال النخيل الحبيبة... وللطير رفرفة جانية... على همسات الغصون الرطيبة... فأيقظت في مهجتي الباكية، بقايا شجون الزمان التّربية...
جوى وعاطفة مشبوبة، ونفسية شاعر تخفي وراءها حزناً عميقاً وغربة روح... وكما كلماته وعباراته، فإن إيقاع الأبيات وموسيقاها يتردد صداهما في النفس محركة أرق الشاعر والأحاسيس دونما إنتهاء إلى آخر قصيدة من قصائد هذا الديوان.
