جاء هذا الكتاب في ثلاثة أبواب وتسعة فصول تناول الباب الأول مفهوم الجنس وأهمية التربية الجنسية وضرورتها وأهدافها، فضلاً عن إشارات وتنبيهات خاصة، كما تطرق إلى مجموعة من الدراسات والتجارب في التربية الجنسية في دول عدة في العالم وآثار تلك التجارب ونتائجها.
والباب الثاني تناول موضوع الجنس في القرآن الكريم، والمواقف الإسلامي العام من التربية الجنسية، والإجراءات الوقائية المتخذة في هذا المجال، فضلاً عن مسائل عدة تتعلق بالجنس.
أما الباب الثالث فقد خصص للحديث عن دور المؤسسات العامة في المجتمع فيما يتعلق بالتربية الجنسية، فتناول دور كل من الأهل والمدرسة والإعلام والدولة وعلماء الدين.
وقدمت مجموعة من المقترحات والتوصيات ومن ثم الخاتمة، وتلتها لائحة المصادر والمراجع.

كان هذا الكتاب بهدف إفهام الشباب أن الجنس ليس مشكلة بذاته، بل يعبر عن حياة سوية، فيما تكمن المشكلة في نوع التربية التي تعود عليها الشباب ونوع الإرشاد الذي يتلقونه.
كما يهدف لبيان أن الجنس ليس كل شيء في الحياة، وأن انحراف الشباب سيضع عليهم حياتهم ومستقبلهم، وأن تهذيب الغريزة الجنسية يكفل سعادتهم في الدنيا والآخرة معاً.
