في دراسة موجزة كالتي بين يدينا تسعى إلى توصيفه برجل المستقبل، تقدم مجرد محطات عن حياته وفكره، هي بالقطع راهنة بالقدر الذي يبدو فيه إنساناً سعى لتحديد ملامح هذا المستقبل، تذكرنا بأن هذا الفارس هو فاتح خيبر والحائز بامتياز على عداوة الحركة الصهيونية إلى الأبد، وأتباعه في جنوب لبنان يحققون نصراً هو الأول بلا قيد ولا شرط.
هذا الفارس المؤمن رجل الثوابت الإسلامية والإنسانية الحكيم العالم الزاهد، أنكر ذاته من أجل المبدأ، وقدم نفسه قدوة لكل المناضلين في كل العصور، وكم يسمو في نظر قارئه عندما يطلع على كتابات المستشرقين عنه وهم منحازون إلى خصومه بلا تردد.
لم يكن علي بن أبي طالب إنساناً عادياً، وتغلب فيه الجانب الإلهي على الإنساني دائماً حتى وأتباعه المعتدلون والباحثون المنصفون يؤكدون صوابية مواقفه وفكره وعصمته من الزلل بالتوازي مع بشريته، ذلك الإنسان الذي بكي وهو يرفض الدنيا وينفصل عن الزمن مقترباً من معرفة الخالق وهو يحمل السيف من أجل إرساء الحق والعدالة والخير على وجه الأرض.
هذا البحث الموجز يسعى إلى القول إن علياً لم يعمل لذاته لأنه علم، ومن أجل ذلك هانت الدنيا والسلطة في عينيه بسبب هذا العلم -إن الإسلام حالة ممتدة للمستقبل، وإن أحد أولاده سيقود المستضعفين في هذا العالم نحو النصر، أما هو فليس هذا زمنه. وقد تصرف وضبط سلوكه تبعاً لذلك، مما أثار عجب باحثي سيرته ممن لا يأخذون النبوءات التي تلقاها من رسول الله حول المستقبل، ومستقبله هو بالذات وأولاده، بعين الاعتبار، مسلمين وغير مسلمين.
