إن الهدف من هذا البحث هو جمع القلوب على محبة سيدنا الإمام الحسين وآل البيت الأطهار، والاهتداء بهديهم، والإقتداء بسيرتهم العطرة.
وقد التزم فيه بالمبادئ الآتية أولاً: عرض الوقائع بصورة تجمع بين الصدق في الرواية والأمانة في العرض. ثانياً: تمحيص الحوادث، والتأكد من صحة الروايات بمقارنتها بعضها ببعض، والبعد عن الشبهات، وذلك في أسلوب سهل ميسر. ثالثاً: عرض المثل العليا والأخلاق الكريمة التي اتصف بها سيدنا الحسين رضي الله عنه وآل البيت الأطهار، واستخلاص العظات والعبر من الحوادث. رابعاً: بيان فضل آل البيت الأطهار.
وهو قبسات من سيرته العطرة، منذ مولده وحتى حمل رأسه الشريف إلى القاهرة، ومنزلته عند جده صلى الله عليه وسلم، وأجلاء الصحابة، ونفحات من شمائله الكريمة، في عبادته وورعه، وعلمه وفقهه، وكرمه وسخائه، وتضحيته واستشهاده، حتى اختاره الله سيداً للشهداء، وسيداً لشباب أهل الجنة.
وسترى في كل هذا الإيمان الراسخ، والقدوة الطيبة، والأسوة الحسنة، والأخلاق العظيمة.
سلام الله عليك يا سيدنا الإمام الحسين وعلى جدك صلى الله عليه وسلم وعلى أهل البيت الطاهرين، والحمد لله رب العالمين.
