تدور فصول هذا الكتاب حول موضوع قد يراه البعض ليس مهماً، إلا أن الناظر المنصف في نظره، يرى له من الأهمية والأثر الكبير في الحياة العقائدية لأهل الإيمان. وذلك لما للفتنة والامتحان من دخل كبير وعظيم في تحديد عاقبة الإنسان وتعيينها. والفتن والابتلاءات التي ورد ذكرها في الأحاديث المعصومية الشريفة التي تناولت الجوانب المختلفة لشؤونات إمام زماننا صلوات الله عليه وظهوره الشريف، يمكن تصنيفها في قسمين: أولاً: الفتنة والتمحيص في زمان غيبته الشريفة، ثانياً: الفتنة والتمحيص في زمان ظهوره الشريف.
وينصب الكلام في هذه الفصول على القسم الثاني الذي يمكن تقسيمه إلى نوعين: هما: أولاً الفتنة لعامة الناس في زمان الظهور الشريف، ثانياً: فتنة لخاصة الناس وهم أصحاباً صلوات الله عليه والسائرون في ريحابه، وأهل معسكره، وأنصاره وشيعته ومحبوه. والحديث في هذا الكتاب سيدور حول النوع الثاني من أنواع الفتن والتمحيص والاختبار، لما في ذلك من تنصير وإرشاد في تحديد معالم طريق الهدى، ومن هنا فإن البحث سيتناول أهم الموضوعات التي ذكرتها الروايات الشريفة بهذا لخصوص. وسيكون عرضها ودراستها بأسلوب موجز بعيد عن الإطناب والاستقصاء لكل صغيرة ودقيقة.
