ولد دولوز في 18 كانون الثاني في باريس. وانتحر في 4 تشرين الثاني بعد أن تفاقم مرضه الرئوي بشدة. وقد اشتهر باطروحته الرئيسية "الفرق والتكرار". هو فيلسوف المحايثة المطلقة التي لا تترك مجالاً لأي مفارقة.
حاول دولوز جمع "أمير الفلاسفة سبينوزا مع نيتشه في صيرورة واحدة، في هوية كبرى. وألف كتباً عديدة مع صديقه المحلل النفسي فليكس غتاري، لا سيما الآنتي -أوديب وما الفلسفة؟ حيث أسمعا، في هذا الأخير، صوت الفلسفة إلى الجميع.
