قصائده تنضح بالألم لكنه الألم الذي لا يستكن صاحبه بل ينتفض واقفاً كي يمتشق قامته ويندفع إلى الأمام باحثاً عن صباح لا أوهام فيه.. والشاعر فيه يخرج من شرنقته كي يعانق الأمل بالخروج من المحنة:تكوّر كالشرنقة/ وأخرج.. من المحنة/ فحدودك من الصين.. إلى الصين/ ومن جنين.. إلى الجنة/ أخرج.. من المحنة/ ما بعد الأسوار.. ليس سجنك/ بل سجان.. جدد سجنه/.
والشاعر يقبض على ذاكرته بأساور كي يذلل النسيان وهو ينفض عنه تاريخاً من التغرب والحنين إلى الوطن. وفي سمفونية جريح يخشى الشاعر على فارسه من العجب كما من نفسه../ أخشى عليك.. من قربي/ وأخشى عليك.. من وهني، يابن السيف.. والكتب.
