سفرٌ نفيس, ومجموع قيم أثير, حوى من الأسانيد الحديثية ما تنشرح به الصدور, ويَشرُف بالانتساب إليه كل موفق. وآل الكزبري أسرة دمشقية جليلة المآثر, تصدرت لخدمة حديث رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في زمن قلَّ فيه المحدثون, وندَر فيه المشتغلون بالسنة, وعلماؤها يعدون في مقدمة علماء دمشق علماً وفضلاً وجاهاً, فقد كانت أفئدة طلاب العلم والحديث في دمشق وغيرها تهوي إليهم, وتسعى للأخذ عنهم, ويكفيهم شرفاً أن تدريس الحديث تحت قبة النسر بقي في بيتهم مئة وسبعة وثلاثين عاماً, بدءاً من سنة (1196هـ) حين درَّس الشيخ محمد الكزبري بالنيابة عن شيخه الداغستاني, وإلى سنة (1333هـ) تاريخ وفاة الشيخ محمد علي بن سليم الكزبري, آخر من درَّس تحت القبة من هذا البيت. وقد قام المحقق بالاعتناء بآثار هذه الأسرة, فجمع من المكتبات العامة والخاصة كل ما استطاع الوقوف عليه من أثباتهم وإجازاتهم وخطوطهم, رغبة منه في خدمة تراث هذه الأسرة. وبعد أن اجتمعت لديه نسخ عديدة من أثباتهم, وطائفة وفيرة من إجازاتهم, عزم على إخراجها في مجموع واحد, يخدمها فيه بالتصحيح والتحرير والتحقيق العلمي قدر الإمكان. يشتمل هذا المجموع على الأثبات التالية: 1ـ ثبت العلامة علي بن أحمد بن علي الشهير بابن كزبر، خال الأسرة الكزبرية. 2ـ ثبت العلامة عبد الرحمن بن محمد بن زين الدين الكزبري الكبير. 3ـ ثبت ابنه العلامة محمد بن عبد الرحمن بن محمد الكزبري. 4ـ ثبت ابنه العلامة عبد الرحمن بن محمد بن عبد الرحمن الكزبري الصغير. 5ـ ما وقف عليه من إجازات بني الكزبري لتلاميذهم.
