في هذا الديوان شعرية نقلت الكلام من وظيفة الإخبار إلى وظيفة الجمال، وأثثت فضاءات المحكية بلغة المجاز التي تُطوع الصلب وتبث الروح في مفردات النص.
الشاعر جبار رشيد يقدم لنا في ديوانه "خذني يمّك" مجموعة من القصائد ذات اللون الشعبي مجسداً من خلالها إرثاً شفوياً غنياً لا يزال حياً في الوطن العربي، ينتقل من جيل إلى جيل ويسهم في صنع الهوية الثقافية وإستدامتها بين أفراد المجتمع المحلي، قدّمها الشاعر بلغة إحيائية إن جاز وصفها تتلائم والغاية التي تسعى إليها كل قصيدة، ففي القصيدة التي يفتتح بها الشاعر عمله "وين ما خذني" يتم التركيز على صورة الحبيبة بأبعادها الواقعية وجعلها محوراً لموضوع القصيدة، وكأن الشاعر يعيد سيناريو حكاية آدم وحواء بشكل جديد ومغاير حينما اقترح التوحد والبوح والكلام الصريح بدلاً من التلميح، لتكشف القصيدة عن أبعاد التجربة الشعورية (الحسية) مع الآخر (المرأة) في حين يبقى الآخر النقيض وهو (الروحي) المتمثل بالحب الحل لإنجاح التواصل بينهما.
يقول الشاعر في "وين ما خذني": "... يا لشايل حسن كل الحسن... وين ما خذني العمر ما ينضمن... وبعد ما عدته وكت بيّ نمتحن... وبعد ما عندي تحلب عنده فلكـَ يهوه ويحن... وين ما خذني العمر ما ينضمن... الروح نص منها بعشكـَ خلص سجن... وثاني نصها لهسة خايف... شما أسأله يكَلي ما لا كَي الأمن... وين ما خذني...
يضم الكتاب قصائد في الشعر الشعبي (المحكي) جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "وين ما خذني"، "ليش متردد"، "أحب كلك"، "إسمعني"، "ما أحبك"، "جيتك شمس"، "خوفي إعليك"، "زعلان منه"، "لمحتلك"... وعناوين أخرى.
