يضع الشيخ "جماد الدين أحمد بن محمد بن فهد الحلي" (757-841هـ) كتاباً في الدعاء سمَاه "عدة الداعي ونجاح الساعي وفيه مقدمة وستة أبواب. أما المقدمة: ففي تعريف الدعاء والترغيب فيه وفيها يحثنا "الحلي" على الدعاء والإقدام عليه، لإن في مناجاة الله سبب النجاة وفي سؤاله مقاليد العطايا ومفاتيح الهبات...
يأتي الباب الأول: في الحث على الدعاء، أما الباب الثاني فيأتي في أسباب الإجابة، فمنها ما يرجع إلى الوقت، وإلى المكان، ومنها ما يرجع إلى الفعل كأعقاب الصلوات، وأهمية التوكل على الله... الخ، أما الباب الثالث فجاء العنوان: في الداعي، من الذي يستجاب دعاؤه، ومن لا يستجاب دعاؤه، أما في الباب الرابع نتعلم منه: كيفية الدعاء وآدابه مثل الطهارة، واستقبال الكعبة، والصدقة، والإلحاح في الدعاء، وتقديم الصلاة على النبي وآله... الخ، ويخص الباب الخامس: في ما ألحق بالدعاء وهو الذكر وفيه فصول عدة: في الحث على الذكر، وأوقات الذكر، وأقسام الذكر ومنها التحميد، والتسبيح، ومنها كلمات خمس..؟ وفي الإستشفاء بالدعاء ودفع العلل، وما يستدفع به النكاره.. الخ. ويأتي الباب السادس والأخير بعنوان: في تلاوة القرآن وفيه فصول عدة حول ثواب قراءة القرآن، وفي أهمية المداومة على تلاوة القرآن، وبه يتم الاستشفاء من العلل والإستكفاء. إلى آخر ذلك من شروط في ما يتعلق بإجابة الدعاء...
