ضخامة الملفات وتسارع الأحداث ضاق بها أفق الأيام، وتدافعت التطورات بحيث لم يستطع العام 1999 أن ينفصل عن العام الذي سبقه وعن العام الذي يليه، وإن كثرت التوقعات عن كون هذا العالم محطة تحوّل زمني بين قرنين، إلا أن المقاومة جعلت منه محطة كتبت فيها عناوين استشرفت فيه خواتيم مقدّرة قد يشهد تجلياتها العام الأول من الألفية الثالثة؛ وفي رأس هذه العناوين انسحاب قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي من جنوب لبنان، فضلاً عن توفير المقومات الأساسية لتجدد انطلاق عملية التسوية وفق المبادئ التي نصّ عليها مؤتمر مدريد، والتي تضمنت انسحاب الاحتلال من هضبة الجولان السورية المحتلة. ولئن كانت عمليات المقاومة وعطاءات المجاهدين منفصلة عن الواقع السياسي المتعلق بالتسوية، إلا أن انعكاسات وتأثيرات انتصارات المجاهدين كان لها الوقع الكبير في اندفاع حكومة الاحتلال، والمجتمع الصهيوني برمته، باتجاه الرضوخ لإرادة المقاومين واعتماد خيار الانسحاب هرباً من المستنقع اللبناني الذي ازداد عمقاً وماجت وحوله ليشتد الخناق أكثر فأكثر على الاحتلال، وليجهد في التفتيش عن أفضل المخارج وأقلها تعقيداً.
وهذا الكتاب الذي بين يدينا يعرض لعمليات المجاهدين ويشرح بالأرقام النتائج والخليات لمسيرة وعطاءات المقاومة الإسلامية في مواجهة الاحتلال وعملائه خلال العام 1999، كما يعرض وقائع العدوان الصهيوني، وصور المجاهدين، ومشاهد العمليات العسكرية، وأهم البيانات والمقالات الصحفية، فضلاً عن خرائط العمليات كل ذلك بالكلمة والصورة الفوتوغرافية الملونة.
