أكثر ما يلفت الإنتباه، في نصوص هذه المجموعة الشعريّة، إنفتاحها على إشتباكات راهنيّة وبالغة الحساسيّة، وإشاعتها لغير قليل من الأسئلة والدهشة الّتي تفور بها قصيدة النثر عبر تقديم إغراءات تدفع الشاعر لأن يكفر بالحدود، لكنّه بالمقابل يتجنّب الوقوع في مصيدة الشرح، ويظلّ ممسكاً بخيوط التكثيف حيث الإبهام ليس غاية.
هنا إحتفاء وشغف متعاظمان بكتابة الذات من دون تكلف في عدد غير قليل من قصائد المجموعة يشبه، إلى حدّ كبير، العثور على تلك الذات ملتبسة بمواقف الألم العبثيّ، أو ربّما إلتحاماً في نبوءات ما، لكنّه لا يدير ظهره للآخر، ويفتح النصّ له وعليه إنطلاقاً من الشخصيّ، حيث ينتصر كلّ ما هو راقص ومتأصّل وهارب بوحدته إلى الأمام، تتأسّس القصيدة لدى مهنّد السبتي بوصفها تربّصاً بالمطلق، وتمجيداً للحريّة، وتشكيكاً في السواكن، بينما هي تتحرّك ضمن أفق لا يجترح سوى الشعريّ والمتعدّد واللانهائي.
في قصيدة بعنوان: "كل ما قيل كان حلوا"... "هُناك مَنْ رآنا نتبادُل قلوبَنا في الشارع العام... هناك مَنْ رأى ظلّينِ متعانقينِ... رأى وصدَّقَ وآمنَ... فلماذا تقصفُ أركانَ سكينتهِ... بكُلِّ ما أوتينا من عِنادٍ ومكر؟... أيها الذاهبُ أقبِلْ... كلُّ ما قيل كان حلواً... صار يلزمُهُ الخطوُ".
