هذه أول دراسة عن نظرة "يوسف السودا" إلى لبنان، وهي تطرح قضية في ذروة الخطورة، إلا وهي العقيدة القومية اللبنانية، بحيث أننا لا ندرك كنه لبنان ولا خلفيات المقاومة اللبنانية الشرسة منذ سنوات، زودا عن لبنان وفداء عنه، بدونها.
فمفهوم السودا لهذا الوطن هو نفسه مفهوم القوميين اللبنانيين له، والحجج التي استخدمها الرجل في عراقة وطنه، وتراثه وصموده في وجه الفاتحين، وديمومته إزاء المشاريع والأفكار "الوحدوية" التي من شأنها الإطاحة بكيانه، هي عينها التي يعتنقها في أيامنا إتباع القومية اللبنانية، زعماء ومفكرين، أحزاباً ومؤسسات... فالسودا رجل في أمة، وفكرة غمرت شعباً بأسره، ودستور للقضية اللبنانية، أحكامه لها سلطة القانون الطبيعي والوضعي.
