مدار هذا الكتاب هو الحكمة الإلهية وقد قيل أنه الكتاب الذي ينفتح من كل باب منه ألف باب جمع فيه صاحبه ما عرض له من العلوم والآداب التي توفر على دراستها والعناية بها وقد انفتح له من مجالسة ذوي الفضل مغاليق العلوم والخيرات وانسدت دونه أبواب الشكوك والشبهات فشروع في كتابة هذه الرسالة التي تحتوي على أحوال المبدأ والمآل. جامعة لبعض الأقوال مشحونة من دقائق التوحيد وحقائق التفريد، شارحة لقول سيد الموحدين وإمام المتقين، هي في جزءين.
والكتاب يعبر عن حكمة الشيخ الأوحد أحمد بن زيد الدين الإحسائي الذي كان الشيخ محمد يعتبر من الجيل الثالث فيها. وقد عثر المحقق على ثلاثة نسخ منها، فعمد إلى مطابقة النسخ، وقام بتقطيع النص ووضع علامات الترميم عليه وعمد إلى تخريج الآيات والروايات والأقوال كما علق على بعض المواضيع. وزود الكتاب بفهارس لتسهيل عملية البحث والتفتيش.
