"أنت لا تعبر النهر مرتين" مقولة ترنم بها هيرا قليطس، ومنذ أن قالها وكل شيء في تغير مستمر، بدءاً من الإنسان ومعلوماته وثقافته وعقائده إلى مصطلحاته ومفهوماته ومناهجه، حتى أصاب التغير الجمادات، مثل ما أصاب الكائنات الحية.
نسوق هذا الكلام للتعبير عما يريد قوله انطوان أبو سمرا في نصوصه السردية "من زوايا الحياة" وقد اعتمدت بشكل واضح على بنية حكائية سردية، تزاوج السرد بالحوار، وضع فيها المؤلف خلاصة تجاربه وأفكاره وأفكار وتجارب الآخرين من أطياف مجتمعه من الناس العاديين الذين تعكس تجربتهم دروساً وعبراً، ومن المفكرين والفاعليين الإجتماعيين الذين أعطوا الغير من عصارة فكرهم من دون مقابل وكان همهم بناء الإنسان.
لقد أفلح انطوان أبو سمرا في كتابه هذا في توصيف واقع الناس في الزمن الحاضر، في المنزل والعمل امتداداً إلى العلاقات التي تربطهم سلباً أو إيجاباً، بما فيها هموم الوطن.
تحت عنوان (الحرية) نقرأ: أنت أيتها الحرية يا معبودة الناس، أنت يامن رفعوا لك الأنصاب في الساحات وأعلوا لك المنحوتات في الشوارع، وحملوا لك المشاعل عالية صماء، مسكينة أنت يا من تغنوا بك وجاهر باسمك واستشهدوا في سبيلك. نعم مسكينة أنت أيتها الحمراء المشتعلة دوماً، والملتهبة في كل حين. أنت يا حلم الجماهيىر ومعشوقة كل معدم فقير..."
توزع الكتاب على ستون نصاً، كتبت في عناوين لافتة، لم يستخدم في مضامينها الكاتب لغة المجازات كما فعل من الكتَاب وإنما كانت مكاشفة صريحة، تطرح مسائل ملحة، على طريقة انطوان أبو سمرا، وبلغته، وهذا ما يميزه عن غيره.
