إن هذا الكتاب الذي يؤرخ حياة الإمام علي بن أبي طالب "أبو تراب" عليه السلام، يعتبر صرحاً شاخاً في سلسلة الكتب التي صدرت عن عظماء الإسلام وعباقرتهم، بل هو الرجل الذي تحلى بكل الصفات التي تجعل منه عبقرياً ووحيد زمانه علماً وفقهاً وقضاءً وإقداماً وشجاعة وإيماناً غير هياب ولا وجل، وما ذاك إلا أنه نشأ في بيت النبوة وتتلمذ على يدي رسول الله محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، فكان ابن عمه، وأول رجل أسلم وآمن، وقبلها لم يدنس ذاته وضميره بعبادة الأوثان منذ نشأته، وزوج ابنته فاطمة الزهراء عليها السلام، وعضده وساعده في الملمات، والحروب الإسلامية، وموضع سره... ومن هذه الصفات الكريمة الرفيعة كان موضع حقد الأعداء والمرتدين والكفرة وأولئك الذين فضلوا ملذات الحياة الدنيا على الآخرة، فباؤوا بغضب من الله.
تقرأ في هذا الكتاب عظمة الإسلام وعبقريته متمثلة في عظمة الإمام وعبقريته بعد رسول الله محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم.
