وكان من أهم الموضوعات التي تناولها الكتاب: جامع فيه ذكر أوصاف النبي عليه الصلاة والسلام, نعومة يده وليونتها وبرودتها وطيب رائحتها, صفة شعره عليه السلام, سبب طروء الشيب على شعر الرسول عليه السلام, حبه للطيب, أحاديث في بكائه عليه السلام, حاله عليه السلام عند نزول الوحي, صفة تناوله طعامه عليه السلام, وغيرها من المواضيع المثيرة والهامة في شمائله عليه السلام.
