نقدم هذا الكتاب للقراء من العامة والخاصة ولأبنائي الطلبة في مختلف الفروع والتخصصات والمستويات الدراسيّة متفائلاً أن يكشف لهم معالم منهاج (الصرّف)، ويرسم لهم الطريق الواضح لفهَمه فهماً دقيقاً بما يحتويه من شرح وتحليل وأسئلة وتطبيقات، نعرضها باسلوب تعليمي سهل التناول، مُيسَّر الفهم، يمكنهم من الوقوف على دقائق الموضوعات الصرفيّة، وخفاياها، فلم ندّخر جهداً، ولم ندعْ خِبرة مُفيدة، من أجل توفير المعلومة الصحيحة الدقيقة.
الصّرف موضوع شائك يلقى دارسوه عناءً كبيراً في تفهم قواعده، وتتبع أصوله وبيان خفاياه، فلابد من دراسة أصول الكلمات وبنائها، ومعرفة اشتقاقاتها، وبيان جذورها وفروعها، وما يطرأ عليها من حذف وزيادة وإدغام والوقوف على طرائق تصغيرها والنسب اليها، ومعرفة ما يتوقف عليها من فهم المعاني ومعرفة المصادر وأسماء الزمان والمكان والآلة، واسم الفاعل واسم المفعول والصفة المشبهة وصيغة المبالغة والمصدر الصناعي والمنسوب.
لقد تعرضت للقواعد الصّرفيّة بدراسات وافية جامعاً بين توضيحها والتطبيق عليها، مردفاً ذلك بزيادات تهم المختصين والباحثين.
لقد أوليت الجانب التطبيقي اهتماماً خاصاً إذ عطفت كلّ موضوع بطائفة من الأسئلة بعضها مشفوع بالجواب للإرشاد والتمرين، وبعضها تركتهُ لتفكير الطالب وإجابته، وكل ذلك من نصوص قرآنية والسنة الشريفة وطيب الكلام من الشعر والنثر.
توزع الكتاب على أربعة فصول منها أساسيات في علم الصّرف فبينا معنى الصّرف لغة واصطلاحاً، وموضوعه ومادته. وخصصنا الفصل الثاني لتصريف الأسماء، والفصل الثالث درسنا فيه أهم مباحث الصّرف (الإعلال والإبدال، والإدغام والإمالة)، وكان الفصل الأخير قد خصصناه لتصريف الافعال.
