هذا الكتاب يشتمل على مسائل مهمة في العقيدة بعبارة واضحة وأسلوب سهل مبسط لكل واحد وقد بين فيها المسائل المهمة في العقيدة الصحيحة التي يجب على كل مسلم أن يعرفها ويعتقدها, لأنها هي عقيدة أهل السنة والجماعة. إن كلمة التوحيد- لا إله إلا الله- هي أساس الدين وحصنه الحصين وطريقه القويم وصراطه المستقيم ولهذه الكلمة المكانة العظمى في دين الإسلام, فهي أول ركن من أركان الإسلام وأعلى شعبة من شعب الإيمان وهي أول واجب على المكلف وآخر واجب عليه, وقبول الأعمال متوقف على النطق بها والعمل بمقتضاها, وقد كتب أهل العلم في معنى لا إله إلا الله وألفوا فيها الكتب والرسائل, لكن كتبت في هذا الكتاب على طريقة السؤال والجواب لأن ذلك أبلغ في الفهم وأوقع في نفس المتعلم.
