"تحصيل المنافع على كتاب الدرر اللوامع في أصل مقرأ الإمام نافع" من الكتب الهامة في "علم القراءات" الذي هو علم من علوم القرآن. في هذا الكتاب لخص المؤلف وفي مقدمته فوائد وتعليمات في وصف تجويد القرآن دون الدخول في أحكام التجويد، بل هو اقتصر على التوجيهات والتعليمات، مبتدئاً بأبيات من نظم الحافظ أبي الخير محمد بن محمد الدمشقي الشهير بأبي الجزري، معتمداً في تلخيصه على كتاب النشر في القراءات العشر للحافظ ابن الجزري، مقرئ الديار المصرية والشامية، وأيضاً على كتاب القرطبي "الجامع لأحكام القرآن" وعلى شرح "حرز الأم اني"، وعلى كتاب روائع البيان في تفسيرات آيات الأحكام من القرآن". مبتدئاً الحديث بكلام الحافظ بن الجزري الدمشقي من منظومته المسماة بمقدمة ابن الجزري. ومختتماً برموز من عدة كتب هي من الحطاب، والدسوقي، والنصيحة، وجواهر الأكليل، والدرديري، وزاد المسلم على صحيح البخاري ومسلم.
بعد هذا الملخص الذي شكل مقدمة الكتاب قام المؤلف الشيخ السملالي الكرامي الشنقيطي بشرح كتاب علي ابن بري من قراءة ورش وقالون عن نافع مقرئ المدينة المنورة. والغاية معرفة أصول قراءة القرآن ومعرفة أحكام التجويد على حسب ما ثبت عن الأئمة، ونقلته القراء من هذه الأمة من تأدية ما تنطوي عليه، ويرجع فيها إليه من قصر وتخفيف وتشديد ونقل وتحقيق وتفخيم وترقيق وإبدال وتسهيل وإظهار وإدغام، وفتح وإمالة وغير ذلك من أصول وفصول الكيفية التي يجب أن تكون عليها قراءة القرآن الكريم.
