Book Description
"أميرة" طفلة من عائلة غنيّة، تعيش مع والدها في قصر كبير وسط حديقة كبيرة. وفي ليلة ممطرة، كانت "نعمت" دون مأوى، بعدما طردتها زوجة والدها من المنول، تجوب الطرقات وترتجف من البرد القارس، فصادف مرورها من أمام القصر حيث كانت بوابة الحديقة مفتوحة. فدخلت الحديقة بحثاً من ملجأ، فوجدت كوخ صغير، فأوت فيه حتى طلع الصباح.
وفي الصباح، استيقظت على صوت "أميرة" تسالها من هي وماذا تفعل هنا. أخبرتها "نعمت" قصتها، فأرادت "أميرة" مساعدتها. طلبت من "أميرة" من والدها السماح لـ "نعمت" بالبقاء في الكوخ، كما دبّر لها والد "أميرة" وظيفة العناية بزهور الحديقة. وبعد ايام من الأيام العاطفة، تكسّر زجاج نافذة الكوخ، وتسرّب المياه من سطحه إلى داخله، فساءت حال "نعمت" الصحيّة، ولم تعد تحتمل شدّة السعال، فطلبت من "أميرة" المساعدة. وعدت "أميرة" التحدّث مع والدها بالأمر. غير أن أميرة راحت تلهو بألعابها الإلكترونية، وتلعب مع كلبها الذي ينعم بالدفء،،، ونسيت أمر "نعمت"...
