إن ثمة موضوعات ومفاهيم كثيرة إن لم تكن مشتركة بين التداولية وتحليل الخطاب فهي ذات حدود متقاربة تماماً، وسواء أنظرنا إلى الخطاب على أنه وحدة لغوية تضاف إلى وحدات الوصف اللغوي أم بوصفه مستوى تواصلياً ذا خصوصية يتصل بأيديولوجيات إجتماعية معينة فإن ثمة إعتبارات ذات طبيعة تداولية تقدم إسهاماً خصباً من أجل الكشف عن الآليات العميقة الكامنة وراء بناء الخطاب وتفسيره.
وإذا كان مفهوم "إستخدام اللغة" يشكّل أحد العناصر المهمة في تعريف التداولية، فإن هذا المفهوم من وجهة نظرنا يشمل جميع الخطابات الإنسانية، ويضع هذه الخطابات في قلب الوجود الإجتماعية، ولعل تعدد هذه الأشكال والخطابات لا يشوّه بساطة هذا المفهوم بل يؤكد على أهميته وفاعليته، وعليه فمهما كانت الصعوبات التي ستواجه التوجه التداولي في دراسة اللغة فإنها لن تعيق حركة تقدمه في سبيل تطوير تفسير متماسك للغة بوصفها فعلاً إنسانياً يمزج بين الكفاية والأداء في آن.
وهذا الكتاب يقدم لنا من خلال عدد من البحوث النظرية والتطبيقية صورة تتجلى فيها علاقة التداولية بالسيميائيات وتحليل الخطاب، وتوضح لنا الآليات التداولية التي تقوم عليها مجموعة من الخطابات المختلفة، كما يعرج الكتاب على إسهام العلماء العرب في توظيف البعد التداولي في تحليل النصوص، كذلك يطرح الكتاب تصورات جديدة حول بعض المفاهيم التداولية في علاقتها بتحيين الخطابات بأشكالها المختلفة.
