يضم هذا الكتاب مجموعة دروس روحيّة أخلاقيّة فكريّة، تهدف إلى تربية النّفس وبناء الذّات وفق منهج الإسلام وتعاليمه، ويعتمد هذا المنهج "مبدأ المحاسبة" فيما تعنيه المحاسبة من وقفات يوميّة مع النّفس في كلِّ مساراتها الفكريّة والروحيّة والعمليّة.
ويفترض في المحاسبة لكي تكون أقدر على البناء والتربية والإعداد أن تتوفّر على عدد من الشروط، وأهم هذه الشروط: أولاً: الإخلاص لله تعالى؛ أما ثانياً: الوعي والبصيرة، ثالثاً: البرنامج الشامل، رابعاً: النّقد والتقويم.
وعليه، يساعد هذا الكتاب على ممارسة "البرنامج اليوميّ في محاسبة النّفس" من خلال الإنفتاح على النّصوص الدّينية، ومن خلال التّعاطي مع الدّروس التّفصيليّة التي تعين المحاسبة وتوفّر لها الرّؤية، والمنهج، والممارسة.
ويشتمل هذا الكتاب في جزئه الأول لم يوفر إلاَّ على محاسبة "الممارسة العباديّة" فقط، من خلال معالجة أربع مفردات عباديّة: "الصلاة"، الدّعاء"، الذِّكر"، "التلاوة".
