كما يغطي الكتاب في فصل خاص عمليات التفاعل المتسلسل الذي يحدث في المفاعل النووي والذي يمكن التحكم فيه، والذي ما هو إلا صورة مصغرة جداً - أصغر بملايين وملايين المرات - من إنفجار القنبلة الذرية.
كما يتناول الكتاب بالشرح كيف تكتسب ذرات المادة خواص عجيبة للغاية في المدار الخارجي لها، وأهم ما توصل إليه العلماء السوفييت حول التفاعل النووي من خلال نظرياتهم في هذا المجال.
