الأهمية الكبرى التي تجسدها الرسالات الإلهية في تاريخ وحياة البشر أنها تنطوي على مشروع تغييري شامل وعميق، بمعنى أن مشروع التغيير الذي تحمله الرسالة الإلهية إلى الإنسان لا يكتفي بإنجاز دور تغييري محدود في وجود الإنسان، بل الدور الذي تحرِّك الرسالة الإلهية الإنسان نحو تفعيله وتحقيقه وإنجازه يستوعب أولاً كل مناحي الوجود البشري من اجتماعية وأخلاقية وسياسية واقتصادية... إلخ، كما أنه ثانياً يستهدف تغيير الإنسان ضمن مجالاته العقلية والشعورية والسلوكية.
وانطلاقاً من ذلك لم تكن الرسالات فيما تنجزه من مهمة تغييرية تقف بالإنسان عند حد التطوير والتغيير من جانب من جوانب الوجود الفردي أو الجمعي للبشر؛ وهذه المهمة التغييرية التي تنجزها الرسالات الإلهية أفضل ما يمكن أن يطلق عليها أنها مهمة "أسلمة الذات" وهي تسمية مستلّة من تعابير الذكر الحكيم كما تفصح عنها الآيات التي استهل بها المؤلف الكتاب. ولتأكيد على أن ذلك من صميم المنهج الإسلامي وهي الغاية التي استهدفت الرسالات الإلهية تحقيقه في حياة الإنسان، لا بد من الرجوع إلى المنهج التغييري الذي اختطه أئمة أهل البيت في تهذيب وتربية النفس البشرية وتسييرها في طريق التكامل المعنوي والإنسان. فمن يمعن النظر في التراث الروائي لهؤلاء الأئمة يتلمس القدرة والعلم الذي يتمتع به هؤلاء في مجال معرفة خفايا وأسرار النفس البشرية، وتمكن أيضاً من رسم وتحديد وضبط السبيل لإصلاح النفس وهدايتها، ولا شك أن هذين الأمرين هما اللذان يختزلان كل معنى للدور الذي تسعى الرسالات السماوية لإنجازه في المحيط الإنساني.
وفي هذا الإطار جاء كتاب "كامل الهاشمي" الذي يهدف للكشف عن المضامين الراقية التي اختزنتها أحاديث الأئمة عليهم السلام في المجال التغييري والإصلاحي، في محاولة للتعرف على معالم المنهج التي تتبناه الأئمة عليهم السلام في أسلمة الذات الإنسانية وتسييرها في رحاب الالتزام والمسؤولية وتحمل أعباء عملية إصلاح الذات والمجتمع.
