يشتمل هذا الكتاب المترجم إلى اللغة العربية على مجموعة وصايا نيرة مستقاة من ينابيع الوحي وعيون الحكمة النبوية، وزلال معارف العتره الطاهرة، فيما يرتبط بآداب السير والسلوك إلى الله جل جلاله والتي تتلخص في التوبة النصوح ومجاهدة النفس والمشارطة والمراقبة والمحاسبة والمعاتبة، والعمل بأحكام الشريعة وآدابها واجتناب الرياضات المبتدعة، والزهد في الدنيا والاستعانة بالله والاستجداء منه عما سواه، الاجتهاد في تأجيج العشق الفطري لله عز وجل واستشعار الحزن، الارتباط الوجداني والاتباع العملي لأولياء الله عليهم السلام، دوام الذكر بحضور قلب والتهجد في الأسحار وذكر اليونسية، التفكير المعمق في النفس ومعرفتها وفي ذكر الموت، والصبر على صعوبات الطريق والتدرج في طي منازله، الجهد والاجتهاد في العمل والحذر من الاغترار بالتمني، علو الهمة وحصر مطلوبه بالله جل وعلا، وتجدر الإشارة إلى أن هذه الوصايا التربوية والمناهج السلوكية العملية والمواعظ الأخلاقية التي يشتمل عليها هذا الكتاب، هي صادرة عن كوكبة طيبة من العلماء الربانيين العاملين الأتقياء من أتباع مدرسة أهل البيت، ومن بينهم الشيخ إسماعيل التبريزي (1286–1374هـ)، السيد أحمد الكربلائي (1332هـ)، الشيخ حسين قلي الهمداني (1239–1311هـ).
ولأهمية هذا الكتاب ولمكانة مؤلفيه الهامة سعى المحقق "عرفان محمود" إلى ترجمة وتحقيق نصه؛ ودعمه بالشواهد النقلية من الأحاديث الشريفة، وإلى استخراج مصادر الشواهد النقلية الواردة فيه، كما وعنى بوضع عناوين توضيحية لفصول الكتاب وللوصايا والمناهج السلوكية الواردة فيه وكذلك لفقراتها وذلك بهدف الكشف عن مضامينها الرئيسية.
