يعرض الكتاب أهم الطرق التعليمية القديمة والحديثة التي اتبعها الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم في تعليم أصحابه والمسلمين أجمعين رغم أميته الصحراوية, ويتمه وعدم تلمذته في أية مؤسسة تعليمية إلا مؤسسة الرحمن الرحيم, الذي علمه في أول تكليف له بالرسالة أن يقرأ ويكتب بقوله تعالى: (إقرأ باسم ربك الذي خلق*خلق الإنسان من علق* إقرأ وربك الأكرم* الذي علم بالقلم* علم الإنسان ما لم يعلم). وقد جمع الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم في تعليمه بين الطرق التربوية في التدريس واستخدام الوسائل التعليمية المختلفة الحركية والعملية, ونظريات التعليم, وقد قام المؤلف بشرح كل طريقة, وخطواتها وأسس نجاحها وكيفية تنفيذها, ثم تطبيق كل طريقة على ما قام به رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم من تعليم لأصحابه, واستدل على كل طريقة بأمثلة متعددة من السنة النبوية, مستقاة من كتب السنة, وكتب السيرة المختلفة, والتعليق على كل حديث بما قصده رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم, من تعليمه بهذا الحديث والوسيلة التي استخدمها في أحاديثه المختلفة.
