تعني هذه الدراسة كما يتضح من عنوانها بدراسة القضايا التفصيلية المتعلقة بعقود الاستثمار في العلاقات الدولية الخاصة، وبالتالي كان من المتعين لعرض كافة الأفكار المتعلقة هذا الموضوع تقسيم المادة على ثلاثة أبواب: تحدث أولها عن ماهية عقود الاستثمار فتوقف عند أطراف عقود الاستثمار وموضوع عقود الاستثمار ونماذجها المختلفة ,أخيراً حدث عن الطبيعية الخاصة لعقود الاستثمار ومعيار دوليتها.
وتحدث الباب الأول "القانون الواجب التطبيق على عقود الاستثمار فعرض بداية لموضوع اختيار المتعاقدين للقانون الواجب التطبيق على عقود الاستثمار، فعرض بداية لموضوع اختيار المتعاقدين للقانون الواجب التطبيق على عقود الاستثمار، ومن ثم عالج مسألة انعدام اختيار المتعاقدين للقانون الواجب التطبيق على عقود الاستثمار.
أما الباب الثاني فعرض لوسائل تسوية منازعات عقود الاستثمار، فتحدث عن الوسائل المختلفة لتجنب وجسم منازعات عقود الاستثمار كما وتحدث عن التحكيم في منازعات عقود الاستثمار، كل ذلك عرض له هذا البحث معتمداً بشكل أساسي على منهجين علميين يكمل أحدهما الآخر بقصد إغناء موضوع البحث ومحاولة الإلمام بجميع دقائقه وتفصيلاته، ولأجل تحقيق هذه الغاية فقد اتبع المنهج القانوني التحليلي والمنهج التطبيقي.
المنهج القانوني التحليلي: وقد اعتمد على هذا المنهج من أجل استعراض جميع الآراء المتعلقة بموضوعات الرسالة وتحليلها والمقارنة فيما بينها وترجيح أحدها والانحياز إليه مع بيان الأسباب والمبررات التي دفعت لذلك.
المنهج التطبيقي: باعتبار أن موضوع الرسالة يعالج قضية عملية ومتصلة بواقع حياتنا وتطلع بلادنا إلى تحقيق التنمية المنشودة.. لهذا فقد سعة عند عرض كل فكرة إلى تدعيها بالتطبيقيات العملية التي تؤيدها وتساهم في زيادة إيضاحها وسواء كانت هذه التطبيقات العملية من واقع العقود المبرمة بين الدول والمستثمرين الأجانب أو من أحكام القضاء والتحكيم.
