وكتاب "المناقب" هذا تفتقر إليه كل مكتبة بيتية وكل مكتبة عامة، ومكانه لا يمكن أن يشغله كتاب غيره لأنه خير تراث نفاخر به العالم، الأمر الذي حدا بالأستاذ "يوسف الشيخ محمد البقاعي" لتحقيقه حيث اعتنى بتنقيح الكتاب معتمداً على مراجع كثيرة، وشرح كثير من المفردات مما يساعد على ظهور المعاني وجلائها للقارئ، كما وعرف بكثير من الأعلام الواردة في الكتاب، وبوضع فهارس عملية كاملة للكتاب.
